What do you bring as the sign of your promise?
When the rings are presented, the minister may say the following prayer.
By your blessing, O God, may these rings be to N. and N. symbols of unending love and faithfulness, reminding them of the covenant they make this day, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

As each ring is given, the one giving the ring says:
This ring I give you,
as a sign of our constant faith
and abiding love,
in the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.

With this ring,
I give you my promise that from this day forward,
you shall not walk alone.
May my heart be your shelter
And my arms be your home.
May God bless you always.
May we talk together through all things.
May you feel deeply loved, for indeed you are.
May you always see your innocence in my eyes.
I give you my heart.
I have no greater gift to give.
I promise I shall always do my best.
I feel so honored to call you my husband/wife
I feel so pleased to call you mine.
May we feel this joy forever.
I thank God.
I thank you and I love you.

Taking the rings from the ring bearer or best man, the minister lifts up the rings before the congregation and says:
For many centuries, a wedding ring has been a symbol of a pledge that those who give a ring intend to live up to the vows and promises made at the time of marriage. A ring is a visible sign of an inward grace which signifies the givers and receivers becoming one in holy matrimony through the church of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Let us pray:
Enable, O Lord, the ring giver and the ring receiver to fulfill the vows taken here and to know your joyful presence in their marriage and family; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The minister hands the ring to the groom and asks him to repeat the following vow:
N., as evidence of my love for you
and my vow to be your faithful companion
as long as life shall last,
I joyfully place this ring upon your finger.
In the name of the Father,
the Son
and the Holy Spirit.
The minister hands the ring to the bride and asks her to repeat the following vow:
N., as evidence of my love for you
and my vow to be your faithful companion
as long as life shall last,

In the name of the Father,
the Son
and the Holy Spirit.

Grant, O Lord, that the giver and the receiver of a ring may be truly blessed as they show their intentions before you and all who have gathered here. May they know your grace and peace in their marriage and home. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

As a sign of my sincere love for you, N.,

The minister receives the rings from the person responsible for the rings, lifts them up and says:
Wedding rings are visible symbols of a pledge and commitment which brides and grooms promise to each another. Today, all of us are witnesses to the vows of loyalty N. and N. are making here in the presence of God.
Let us bow in prayer:
Heavenly Father, how joyous it is to witness the consecration of N. and N. to one another. Recognizing the importance of this occasion, we pray that you will help them to make their promises with sincerity and the assurance that you can give them the power to live up to all vows taken. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The bride’s ring is then placed on her ring finger by the groom. Then the minister asks the groom to repeat these words:
N., I give you this ring
as evidence of my deep love for you.
I pledge to you that, with God’s help,
I will strive to be a willing helper,
a true friend and comforter
and a dependable and loving husband.
This vow I make
in the name of the Father,
the Son
and the Holy Spirit.
Then the groom’s ring is placed on his ring finger by the bride. She is asked to repeat these words after the minister:
N., I give you this ring
as evidence of my deep love for you.
I pledge to you that, with God’s help,
I will strive to be a willing helper,
a true friend and comforter
and a dependable and loving wife.
This vow I make in the name of the Father,
the Son
and the Holy Spirit.

The minister, taking the ring or rings, says,
I hold in my hands beautiful rings. They are made of precious metal representing two precious lives that stand before me. The ring has no beginning, no end…it represents the circle of life-the circle of love. May they be given, and received, to remind you of the vows you have made this day.
Let us pray…
Bless O Lord, the giving of these rings, that they who wear them may abide in your peace, and continue in your favor; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The minister then hands the appropriate ring to the man to put upon the third finger of the woman’s left hand. The man, holding the ring there, repeats after the minister,
In token and pledge
of my constant faith
and abiding love,
with this ring I thee wed
in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Then the groom’s ring is placed on his ring finger by the bride. She repeats these words after the minister:
In token and pledge
of my constant faith
and abiding love,
with this ring I thee wed
in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
